My little man....

My little man had his first birthday!  I have been so amazed at this last year as a mommy.  I have been truly blessed by this little guy.

We are really looking forward to making a visit to see Uncle Chad, Aunt Shelby, and Ben.  Nana and Papa are going to be meeting us there.  I really hope the weather is warm so we can go to the zoo on that Saturday!  That would be a fun thing to do with the boys--take them on their first trip to the zoo.

Not too much else going on.  Cameron has mastered telling me "No" (shaking his head)... he can say Mom, nana/nun nun, signs "milk" and "more".  He's still not walking, but I think that's due to a faceplant incident when he walked a few steps a while back.  he can go with holding onto someone or something like no other, though.
he's discovered that it's funny to open and close cabinet doors... and likes to play with the boxes of food in the cabinet.  he can see his reflection in the stove, and that's really cute to see himself play in that.

It's been a MONTH?!?!?!

Well... since the last time I have posted...
Cameron was in the hospital.  He got a really bad sinus infection, which caused him to get dehydrated.  It was a very long few days... But he enjoyed "playing" on the bed, and flirting with his nurses... such a ham!

We have a pretty good routine down now.   Grandma and Grandpa are going to be visiting for the holidays, and Cameron is really excited.  We get on Skype all the time with Nana.

Cameron and his cousin Ben got to spend a little time together over Thanksgiving... Mommy had to work, and then volunteered to work the Black Friday sales...

We are definitely ready for Christmas.... and his family birthday party!  We're going to do his birthday cake and pictures about 3 weeks early, since everyone will be here.  Uncle Chad, Aunt Shelby, and Ben are going to be here from the 24 until the 26... so we're just going to do the fun while everyone is here.

Happy Holidays.  I hope you all have a very happy holiday season, I know we will!

Oh, how I love Saturdays!

Today, Cameron is 10 months.

I made pumpkin chocolate chip cookies today.  I shared with Cameron, and the piece I gave him had chocolate, which ended up all over his hands and his face.  He didn't eat much of the cookie, as it was too much fun to play with it and get it all over his face!!!

I am so grateful for my adorable son.  He is so much fun, and such a blessing in my life.

He is so happy, so full of life.

I can't wait to learn more about my little man as the years go on.  He loves to see himself in the videos... so usually I have to upload the video to my computer and turn the sound up, he watches himself and talks back to "himself" on the computer!  It's so cute.  I love seeing his personality come out.

As for me, I am getting a lot of hours at work, so Saturdays (well, weekends really) are great for me--because I get to spend the whole time with Cameron.  It stinks that I have to take him to daycare so I can work.  I'm really hoping to go back to school full time so I can finish my degree.  Walmart has been great with working with me on my hours and with being a single parent, but I could use something that is consistent hours and a consistent job. (And a job that I love and actually look forward to going to!!!)

I think this year has gone by way too fast.  My baby is going to be a year old before I know it!!! I have Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years, and then his birthday... so the next few months are going to be BUSY.

Welcome!

I decided to finally sit down and start a blog about Cameron's and my adventures.
Cameron Jacob was born Jan 13, 2010 at 8:56PM in Manhattan KS.  We moved back to my hometown shortly after. (like, as soon as I was discharged from the hospital)

Cameron got to meet both of my great grandmothers that I knew and grew up visiting.

Cameron with Great-Great Grandma Florence Guison.  She passed away a month or two after Cameron met her.

Cameron with Great-Great Grandma Ellen Palmer

We have had quite a few adventures so far in these short 10 months.  We've gone to Western Kansas to meet the Palmer side of the family.  We've gone to Omaha to visit and ended up in Iowa.  We're living on our own now instead of with Cameron's grandma and grandpa.  Cameron got to see grandma graduate from college and go to NASA for a workshop during the summer.  Cameron is a "big cousin" to Ben, who is mommy's older brother's son.

Cameron is known by the following names:  Cameron, CJ (short for Cameron Jacob, because there are 4 Cameron's at his day care... who'd have thought!), Boo Boo, Bubba, Goobie, and Monster (because he growls).

At his most recent doctor's visit (this past week) he weighed 20.8 pounds, and is 27.25 inches long.  He is growing very well on the charts.  He is sitting up, pulling himself up to a stand, and is able to "fall" without face planting.  He has a good army crawl.

Some of Cameron's favorite things are getting on Skype with "Na Na" (pronounced nah nah), squealing at Lance (grandma and grandpa's dog who is living with us right now), pulling himself up on anything and everything, and "riding the pony" (bouncing on mom's leg).  He likes to eat cereal puffs, cheerios, mashed potatoes, and his favorite baby food is Beech Nut's "Chicken veggies and stars".  We are working on going from a bottle all the time to drinking out of a sippy cup and a big boy cup.  He loves to play with his friends at day care, and when we see them out and about, the kids are so excited to see each other.

This is the most recent video of Cameron.  We were at my friend's house and Cameron was playing with a balloon.  He got so excited that he couldn't hold himself up anymore.
